Grandhotel Starý Smokovec is situated in the centre of Starý Smokovec, which is the main junction of the High Tatras. It is around 200 m far from the railway and bus stations.

The funicular railway to Hrebienok (1236 m a.s.l.) has its lower station just a few meters away from the hotel and a ski and a sledge track finish just behind it. This location enables tourists to walk around, make hiking trips or do winter sports.

It is a 20-minute drive from Poprad Airport to Grandhotel, a 2-hour drive from the airport of Krakow and a 4-hour drive from the airport of our capital, Bratislava.
